   Another retailer that customizes by store is Trader Joe’s. They have VERY highly paid store managers and associate managers who choose their own products to stock (beyond the basics), choose product placement, and create in-store signage and promotions, etc. Every store is different and addresses different market needs. Beyond just their private label philosophy, their wholesale rejections of centralized plan-o-grams, manufacturer coupons, and promotion cash makes them a different kind of food retailer.
