  1. Peter Schaeffer says:

Felix, this was about you vs. the American people. You have devoted your column and your life to destroying the lives and livelihoods of ordinary Americans, and on Tuesday the American people took their revenge. You waged a war on Americans for personal profit, and so you and your ilk could feel ever more superior, smug, and morally enlightened vs. the hoi polloi.

You passionately advocated trade policies that destroyed the lives and livelihoods of millions of American even after you admitted that you knew less about trade than Donald Trump. All you knew was that “free trade” made people like you personally richer and supported your personal arrogance and rapacity.

You passionately advocated immigration policies that destroyed the lives and livelihoods of millions of American while living in a gated community. Did you lose your job because of illegal immigration? Were your wages slashed because of the infinite flood of desperate immigrants willing to work for less? Did your children have to go to a school overwhelmed by illegals and the children of illegals? Did you live in a neighborhood terrorized by MS-13? Of course, not.

You defended Wall Street without hesitation, eight years after Wall Street (and Bush/Obama) unleashed the worst financial crisis in U.S. history since the Great Depression. No sense of shame? No higher ideal than personal greed? Clearly, not.

You preached about the evils of global warming from a comfortable seat in first class. Of course, ordinary Americans shouldn’t have cars.

You lectured Americans about “intolerance” while advocating racial quotas that favored the mediocre children of rich minorities over more talented children from working class families. Obviously, “racism” is only “bad” if the wrong people practice it. Otherwise, it’s clearly a moral imperative.

You advocated foreign policies that drenched the barren sands of Middle East, in American blood and treasure to promote “democracy” and “freedom” in places where such ideas and ideals are a fantasy at best.

You relentlessly promoted a repressive and totalitarian system of political correctness that made rational debate on many issues (immigration, trade, crime, family life, etc.) impossible in the U.S. You hoped that by stifling all debate you could create a “New Cosmopolitan Man” and stamp out the “retrograde” views of the “deplorables”, “irredeemables”, and “bitter clingers”. You fantasized about a tyranny where you and your class could rule with any interference from the people.

You have devoted yourself to enabling the “Party of Davos” to destroy this nation and the people of the USA. At least for one day, you lost.

“Trump is the exact opposite of Mr. Obama.”

For the sake of the American people, let’s hope so.

  3. mike c. says:

    Mr. Schaeffer,

I agree with many of your points. It’s too bad that they are surrounded by a “repressive and totalitarian” word smorgasbord of hyperbole and oversimplification. I’m not going to even go into the moral argument against much of what you say. I guess you don’t consider morals binding for humans, just Americans. You are the new SJWs. I hate them and I’m beginning to dislike you.
