Five to one

Thank You For Smoking: 5/5. Witty, smart, hilarious. See it.
Pierre Huyghe at the Tate: 4/5. Witty, smart, gorgeous. See it. (And I'm not even a Pierre Huyghe fan.)
The Rem Koolhaas pavilion at the Serpentine: 3/5. Smart, gorgeous, pointless. Worth seeing.
740 Park: 2/5. Pointless, overlong, boring. Avoid.
The Matador: 1/5. Pointless, boring, forgettable. Avoid.

funny, I just saw the Matador on Sunday. The perfect movie to have on the TV while you're doing something else.

well, "The Matador" won quite some acclaimed awards, so you might be wrong on that...

Two nominations, no awards, according to this page.

even 'aint it cool news' gave it a top review (http://www.richardshepard.com/thematador.htm) as did ebert (which I cannot find right now).

I do apologise. The Matador won the Audience Award at the San Diego Film Festival in 2005, while its director won Best Director at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival in 2005. That's it. What are these "acclaimed awards" of which you speak?

As for ain't it cool news, well, I just rest my case.
